User Guide - Getting Started

Creating Security Governance Register Entries

This guide walks users through the creation and management of security governance registers in DISPulse

Step 1.

Configure your company security registers. To enable relevant security registers for your company, go to Organisation Settings under Administration and click 'Configure Registers' on the right-hand side of the Organisation Profile tab. From the Security Register Configuration screen, enable all relevant security registers for your company. If you are unsure which registers are applicable, refer to your legacy security governance register for guidance.

If you can’t see the organisational settings page, you may not have the necessary permissions to access it. If this is the case, please speak with your CSO/SO and have them configure the security registers according to the instructions above, or request that your system role be changed.

Step 2.

Next, we need to set the review schedule for our newly enabled registers. To do this, click THE ‘REVIEW SCHEDULE’ button under configure registers. For guidance on what review frequency to set, review the security governance register provided by Defence and your company's relevant policy and procedure documentation. If you are still unsure, contact DISP to clarify your compliance obligations.

Step 3.

Now that our security registers have been configured, we can navigate to the security registers page.

Step 4.

Click "CREATE ENTRY" – this will open a form with all your organisation's enabled security registers.

Step 5.

Select the entry you wish to create and click Next.

Step 6.

Fill in the form with the relevant information. Once you’ve finished, click next and review the details of the register entry. When you're finished reviewing the entry, click ‘UPDATE ENTRY’ to save the security register entry.

Step 7.

If you wish to import your current security governance register, click "Import," select the file to import, and then confirm.

Troubleshooting: If your company has made significant changes to the Security Governance Register that Defence provides, you may encounter issues with the import. In this case, you can either transfer your entries into the default security governance register and re-upload them or input entries manually.
